The Spanish company Dibaq is taking an 80 per cent holding in Rodi, which has been urgently seeking refinancing.

The Spanish company Grupo Dibaq, a manufacturer of dog and cat food and fish food in southern and central Europe, is taking over the Dutch firm Rodi Petfood Groep. Rodi produces dog and cat food, treats and biscuits in north-western Europe. Dibaq is acquiring an 80 per cent interest in the firm, while the remaining shares will remain in the hands of its founder. The takeover means that Rodi, which has been urgently seeking refinancing in recent months, is able once more to offer a full service to the market in north-western Europe. The most recent sales figures for Grupo Dibaq, a group of 26 companies employing 1 100 people in over 30 countries, show sales of over € 200 mio. Rodi had sales of € 80 mio. Rodi employs 285 staff and has production sites in the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and the UK.
