Andrzej Ogrodnik is dead

Andrzej Ogrodnik, the founder and proprietor of the Polish aquatics company Tropical, died on 19 January at the age of only 52. He founded the company in 1977 with his brother Tadeusz Ogrodnik, first producing care products for aquariums. A production plant that was modern by the standards of the time was set up in 1983 to produce flake food. The company now produces a range of 150 products, with a wide selection of articles for aquariums and terrariums. Tropical is an important player above all in the Eastern European market. It is likely that Tadeusz Ogrodnik will take over management of the company. A detailed report will feature in the next issue of PET in Europe.
