Acquisition in Scotland

Guaber UK has acquired the Scottish company Pet and Garden Manufacturing, which supplies the “Get Off” brand of animal repellents. The purchase price is believed to be in the order of £ 1 – 1.5 mio (€ 1.5 to 2.2 mio). Managing director Chris Murley is expected to remain with the company for three months while the transition takes place and will then act in a consultancy capacity. Production will continue to be located in Sanquhar, although it is still unclear whether Guaber will retain the full pet product range offered by the Scottish supplier. Guaber UK belongs to the Italian Guaber Group, which achieved a turnover of € 226 mio in 2003.
