The retailers among the readers of PET worldwide were given three months in which to vote online for 20 different pet products featured in issue 6/2019 of the magazine. A wide variety of products was presented, including food products, accessories and care items plus other innovations from the pet supplies sector. What was striking was the especially large number of treat products and food supplements entered in the competition, reflecting current trends in the market.
Many retail companies from across the globe took up the invitation to participate. This made for an exciting wait to see which product came out on top. Although the polling was close again this year, one clear winner ultimately emerged, with Brit functional treats receiving the most votes.
According to the manufacturer, the Czechia-based Vafo Group, Brit functional treats offer a healthy reward for dogs. As stated by the company, they are rich in unique sources of protein, enriched with functional ingredients such as lactobacilli, fulvic acid and cantaloupe melon extract. The ten varieties are grain- and potato-free and can be given to dogs of all ages, including puppies, says the Vafo Group.
