A total of 15 732 professionals from 46 countries gathered together for the second edition of the international trade fair for pet care professionals in Madrid. 468 direct exhibitors represented firms and brands. "The event's strong attendance figures confirm Iberzoo+Propet's standing as the Iberian Peninsula's premier commercial and business event for the pet care sector," said the organisers.Of the broad group of professionals attending the fair, including the speciality trade, veterinarians, canine stylists and groomers, breeders and trainers, the majority (94 per cent) were from Spain - among them a sizeable contingent from Madrid (43 per cent) - followed by Catalonia, Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha, Valencia and Castile and Leon. Foreign visitors included a significant number from Portugal.
At the same time, Iberzoo+Propet made an impact on social networks. In specific terms, the trade fair reached 16 813 people on Facebook, while on Twitter it amassed 2 096 followers.
Products and innovations
The innovations area featured a collection of 53 new products and 18 innovations from 31 companies, with information about the products displayed on a series of electronic panels and available via the digital guide. Other new features at Iberzoo+Propet were the Veterinary Forum and the AEDPAC Forum. The Veterinary Science Forum was host to scientific presentations in the field of veterinary medicine, coordinated by the Association of Pet Veterinarians, AMVAC.

These focused on innovative products and services for improving pet health and well-being. On 16 and 17 March, the 1st Industry and Trade Forum for the Pet Sector in Spain took place, convened by the Spanish Association of Pet Product Distributors, AEDPAC. This offered opportunities for meetings and discussions about industrial, business and commercial activity in Spain's pet care sector.
Next year's event will take place from 21 to 23 March 2019 at Feria de Madrid.
