Three letters that spell success

When a pet food manufacturer wants to build a new factory or optimise its production processes, the name of KSE Process Technology of the Netherlands always springs to mind. More than virtually any other company, KSE is a premix mineral and animal feed industry specialist with proven international experience in delivering process solutions. Based in Bladel, close to Eindhoven, the company employs 120 people as well as a wide network of freelancers and agents both at home and abroad. KSE offers its customers two product ranges: Alfra dosing and weighing machines and Promas ST automation software. The Alfra line includes dosing systems for powdered and granular raw materials that are renowned for their measuring accuracy. It also features loading systems for loading trucks quickly and cleanly with flour, powder, granulates or grain, and a wide range of Alfra silos. KSE says that these facilitate the efficient and effective storage of products. The stainless steel silos are used for the most viable powdered and granular products, while the flexible silos are used for products with poor running characteristics. Customers are also offered “Alfra Dose & Weigh”, an intelligent control application for swift, accurate dosing. This automatically calculates dosing parameters during and after each dosing operation and increases the dosing rate by 20 per cent, according to KSE. The Alfra products have formed part of the Dutch company’s portfolio since 1997, when it acquired the company Alfra Dosing and Weighing Systems. Software for increased productivity Another major product line is the Promas ST process management software, which is intended to enhance productivity and cost advantages for premix mineral and animal feed factories. Particular features of the hardware-independent automation software include the possibility of upgrading the application in stages and easy access to data for process optimisation, quality control and equipment maintenance. “Promas ST Batch Dosing Automation” offers customers the option of automatic dosing using one or more weighers. The company’s broad portfolio seems to find favour with customers, and KSE now supplies 300 active clients who are producers of animal feed, mainly in the compound feed, pet food, aquafeed, premix and mineral fields.
