Trixie expands logistics Trixie aims to improve its logistics further. By the end of the year, the company will have 70 000 pallet spaces at its disposal thanks to the construction of another hall. When Trixie moved to Tarp from Jarplund-Weding in 2002, its new headquarters comprised a 40 000 m² site and 13 000 m² of warehousing spread over five halls. Since then Trixie has grown rapidly and its logistics have grown in parallel in a two-year cycle. The foreseeable inauguration of a new hall, the eleventh, before the end of the year will take the size of the company site to 80 000 m². At the same time, the number of pallet spaces will increase by a further 19 000 to nearly 70 000. The number of employees at Trixie has risen in the same period to over 300 permanent staff. Petmate acquires Kennel-Aire The US manufacturer Petmate has acquired the products and intellectual property rights of Kennel-Aire, a manufacturer and distributor of high-quality wire crates, wire pet accessories, plastic pet carriers and other pet accessories, headquartered in Ottawa/Kansas. Joe Messner, CEO of Petmate, underlines in a press release that Kennel-Aire is a valuable addition to Petmate’s already established and reputable line of carriers and kennels. Over the next few weeks Kennel-Aire will be moving product inventory, manufacturing capability and associated distribution processes to Petmate’s facilities in Arlington/Texas. Spanish wholesalers at Eheim The aquatics company Eheim recently invited Spanish wholesalers to an exchange of ideas in Deizisau. The programme included a visit to see aquascaping world champion Oliver Knott.
