The Kemin Group, dedicated to health and nutritional solutions for the agrifood, food ingredient, pet food, human health and pharmaceutical industries, has opened a new palatant manufacturing facility in Veronella in the province of Verona. The facility will produce dry and liquid palatant ingredients for pet food. Over 100 guests including Kemin customers, local dignitaries, media and employees attended the inauguration ceremony, which also included guided tours of the new state of the art facility. Rolland W. Nelson (founder of Kemin Industries), Chris Nelson, (president and CEO of Kemin Industries), Giuseppe Abrate, (president of Kemin Nutrisurance) and Michele Garzon (mayor of Veronella) shared their excitement about the facility’s opening and reflected on how it will positively influence Veronella and Kemin. Global expansion “Kemin is pleased to begin production in Veronella and proud to positively impact the economic development of this area. This exciting opportunity will also allow us to continue to lead the global pet food industry with our product innovation and quality ingredients,” said Giuseppe Abrate. This is one component of the company’s global expansion for achieving its vision of improving the quality of life by positively impacting half of the world’s population every day with its products and services. Kemin recently announced a $30 million expansion to its corporate headquarters in Des Moines (Iowa) and is actively evaluating expansion opportunities in Brazil, Russia, India and China. The ceremony was also part of a two-day symposium hosted by Kemin. The event brought pet food industry experts together to discuss the latest research on improving pet food palatability and testing methods.
