Qualipet planning four new stores Qualipet has already signed the contracts for four new stores this year. Four sizeable outlets are to be opened this year in Crissier in the Vaud canton (next to Media-Markt), in the Bernese Oberland, in Pfäffikon in the canton of Schwyz and in Stans in the canton of Uri (immediately adjacent to the Länderpark shopping centre). Existing branches such as Wil in the St. Gallen canton and Langenthal in the canton of Bern are also being completely rebuilt and enlarged. In all the new and modernised stores the focus will be on the emotional aspects of pet owning. Grizzly moves to new headquarters In April, US pet food manufacturer Grizzly Pet Products LCC opened a new 15 000- square-foot facility in Woodinville in the state of Washington to house its corporate headquarters, manufacturing and operations, with room for continued growth. “The move will enable us to continue to meet demands for additional production, product development and staff,” says company founder and president Harald Fisker. Grizzly Pet Products specialises in developing innovative, healthy pet products derived from wild Alaskan salmon and other all-natural ingredients. The company comprises two separately run companies: one in the USA, Grizzly Pet Products LCC, and one in Denmark, Grizzly Pet Products ApS, run by Folmer and Lotte Pedersen (cf. Following initial contact with the Swedish trade fair Zoorf last autumn, a deal has been reached with Swedish wholesaler Imazo. The latter will now distribute the “Dogspaghetti” range, “Catspaghetti”, the “Dogy-gum” range and “Dogy-cocktail” product in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Record number of British companies at Interzoo A record number of British companies – 49 in all – are exhibiting at Interzoo 2010 in a group organised by the Pet Quip trade association. In addition, Pet Quip has a British pet product information stand within the British pavilion where overseas buyers can source UK pet products on a free-of-charge basis.
