Active ingredients from the Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is one of the earth’s most spectacular phenomena – the lowest point on earth, yielding the largest natural source of salts and minerals in the world. Mud and salts are sold throughout the world at spas, resorts etc. The Israeli company Smelly Pet, which recently changed its name to Smiley Pet, has realised that Dead Sea minerals are not only healthy and effective for human beings but also for pets. Some members of the company’s board were previously already partners in a company developing Dead Sea cosmetics for human beings. They decided to develop pet care products based on natural materials that have been reaching the Dead Sea for millennia in floods. These are potassium, magnesium, bromides, chlorides and other minerals essential for supplying energy to the cells, for renewal and for health, beauty and energy. The product range includes
S.O.S. Mineral Pet Cream: for all wounds and damaged skin. This particular cream is based on the same ingredients humans use and according to Smiley Pet is very effective;
Mineral Mud Bath: this premium product, based on Dead Sea mud, is a unique formula for treating fleas and ticks and has a long-lasting solution;
Mineral Care Mask: unique care to treat severe itching & irritated skin. The idea of this mask is that shampoos usually treat the upper level of the skin. This mask treats the inner levels of the skin, when the upper tissues get dandruff;
Anti-Aging Oil is another special product. As we all know, humans are living longer, and so are pets. This product is a breakthrough innovation and the first to open a niche for the treatment of older pets.
In the product range there are different mineral baths to treat different problems, plus creams for coat and skin problems such as fungus and scars and many more. Smiley Pet states that all preparations are natural, enriched with extra Dead Sea minerals, plant extracts, natural oils and organic ingredients. Some are hypoallergenic and additionally perfumed. The official presentation of Smiley Pet took place at Zoomark 2009 in Bologna, Italy. The company has now started manufacturing products for Japan and European countries.
