Established in 1984 by Bogumil'a and Janusz Jankiewicz, the company started with diaph-ragm pumps, which were manually assembled on a kitchen table. Today, 25 years later, the company has three production facilities (two in Warsaw and one in Suwalki) covering in excess of 20 000 m² and it employs over 700 people. Aquael offers more than 800 end products, including everything that is needed to set up and maintain an aquarium or pond.Since it was established, Aquael has focused on the development and acquisition of new technologies. To shorten the time required from design to production and introduction to the market, the latest technical solutions have been implemented, including rapid prototyping. This allows for lightning-quick creation of a prototype according to virtual blue-prints. Injection moulding using modern machines is currently the primary production method. The company owns two fully equipped tool shops that prepare moulds for the production of plastic elements. The efficient distribution of the end products is facilitated by an advanced logistics department and a warehouse system that is constantly being updated.Around 70 per cent of produced goods are exported. Products bearing the Aquael logo can be purchased in over 90 countries around the world. The most rec-ognisable products are aquarium filters, heaters, lighting covers, complete aquarium sets and fountain pumps, pond filters, UV sterilisers and underwater lamps. According to Aquael, the company was the first to introduce to the market shatter-proof aquarium heaters with and without thermoregulation, microprocessor thermoregulators, internal filters with UV sterilisation and many others. For the last four years Aquael has also been offering "ACTI" premium aquarium fish food and aquarium treatments manufactured from the highest quality ingredients according to tested western recipes.Specialising in dog treatsMore than 20 kinds of dog treats are produced every year from 4 thousand tonnes of raw material at the Maced company.
