With a presence in 52 countries, JBL is one of the leading international suppliers in the aquatics business. The company has acquired a good name in the pet product trade as a supplier of interesting aquarium and terrarium product innovations. Its products have been distributed in the Netherlands for some years via a wholesaler, but as success was not forthcoming to the extent JBL would have liked, the company has now decided to distribute its products directly to Dutch pet product retailers in the future. It had a suitably large 100 m2 stand at the Dibevo trade fair, held in the middle of October last year in Rijswijk near Den Haag, to exhibit its considerable range of over 600 products, plus new concepts for the Dutch market and current promotions.
Set to penetrate the Dutch market: Jean-François Krins.
JBL intends to present itself as a serious alternative to other aquarium and terrarium product manufacturers serving the specialist retail trade in the Netherlands. The company has a field sales employee looking after the Dutch pet product trade in Jean-François Krins. JBL’s aim is to provide specialist retailers with concepts that will increase their turnover and help to generate additional sales, and Jean-François Krins spends a lot of time educating JBL’s retail trade customers in point of sale strategies. A wide range of promotional aids is already available in the Dutch language. The company plans shortly to hold training seminars locally and at JBL’s head office in Neuhofen, Germany.
To increase its market share, JBL has launched an advertising campaign in leading Dutch trade and consumer magazines to coincide with its entry into the market there. The company’s website has also been extended to include Dutch.
