Ferplast ran a big competition, with a BMW as the main prize.
The Versele Laga stand was worth seeing and featured its new dog food line “Happy Life”, which falls into the medium price category. This replaces the “Professional” brand previously marketed by the Belgian pet food expert and has been available in the shops since February. Another innovation is the stand-up pouch packaging now used for the bird and rodent brands in the company’s premium range with the aim of making the range more visually attractive. Versele Laga’s open-plan stand had been revamped: below the slogan “Nutrition inspired by nature” the company’s umbrella brand was presented against a blue background, with the brands of the individual product groups arranged underneath it. The stand belonging to Flamingo also created a stir at the show and was chosen by visitors to Anido as the best stand at the exhibition. The company presented a range of new products: a range of dog biscuits featuring ten products, a bag for dog owners to carry their pet’s garments and other accessories in, new dog cushions and beds, a low-price wet cat food in three different varieties and a new type of cat litter comprising a mixture of bentonite and silicate. The German aquatics company Sera was also in attendance at Anido, with a host of new products and a lottery to boost garden pond business. The company unveiled an adjustable air pump for aquariums and ponds and presented a new internal filter designed especially for small aquariums. Other new products included the “Sera Precision” and “Digital” thermometers and a new, completely watertight cover.
