Beaphar’s founder, Bernard AA, launched his company in 1943 to market homeopathic remedies for dogs. Led by his son Henk AA, Beaphar now employs around 400 people all over the world, is present in 60 countries and markets around 2,200 products in all worldwide. However, the range differs substantially in the various countries Beaphar supplies due to the different requirements of the individual markets. The company operates wholly owned subsidiaries in Great Britain and Germany, two of its main markets in addition to the Netherlands. In Britain, Beaphar took over Sherley’s in the mid-1990s and the brand of the same name still forms an important part of the range in the UK, a range that now comprises around 200 products and is constantly being expanded. Beaphar has had an active sales programme in Germany for 16 years. Its subsidiary in Emmerich has a workforce of 20, six of whom are engaged in field sales. The range for the German market encompasses around 350 products. The company also has outlets in many other nations and has expanded considerably in Eastern Europe in recent years, establishing branches in Poland and the Czech Republic. Beaphar now services 13 Eastern European countries from the Czech Republic.

Sri Lanka and Vietnam may shortly be added to this list.
