According to media reports, the French company Ynsect has avoided insolvency for the time being. Long-time investors are said to have pledged additional funds of around 10 mio. euros to the struggling insect producer. This will enable the company to meet its existing obligations, continue production and secure several months of operations while it searches for a long-term investor and potential buyers. Ynsect began restructuring in September 2024 after years of expansion.
There is also a change in leadership: current CEO Shankar Krishnamoorthy is leaving Ynsect and will be replaced by Emmanuel Pinto. Pinto is regarded as a restructuring specialist. He is expected to hold further talks with potential investors in the coming months.
