The European Commission has cleared the acquisition of Arcaplanet, the leading Italian specialist retail chain, by Fressnapf, Europe's leading pet retailer. Fressnapf will become the sole shareholder of Arcaplanet. The transaction expands Fressnapf's market presence in Italy and its pan-European network by more than 560 stores to around 2 600 in the most important European countries, with a turnover of more than 700 mio euros.

At the same time, Cinven, a leading international private equity firm, joins Fressnapf as a strategic partner with a minority stake in Fressnapf Holding SE (PET worldwide reported). The collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship and aims to strategically support Fressnapf's European growth agenda, the Krefeld-based company said
