A new chapter is being written in the success story of German pet food manufacturer JR Farm. The company, based in the Bavarian town of Pessenburgheim, has expanded its production site significantly, paving the way to further growth.
After construction work lasting almost a year, the new 5 700 m2 logistics centre was commissioned back in July 2022. It has four loading bridges, while the number of pallet spaces was increased from 1 500 previously to around 8 000. This marked increase is explained primarily by the greater bay height of 7.50 m as compared with 5 m hitherto. “It is the first time in the company’s history that we have had free warehouse space,” says managing director Stefan Ruisinger with satisfaction.
The adjacent office unit, a new building housing the management, sales and marketing departments, quality assurance and accounting department over three levels, was completed in September last year. JR Farm has invested nearly 5 million euros in the overall construction project. An official opening ceremony for the new buildings was held recently.
