Norbert Steinwidder leaves Das Futterhaus

Long-standing managing director Norbert Steinwidder is leaving Das Futterhaus Austria at the end of the year after 15 years with the retailer. Felix Goral, who assumed responsibility for commercial management in Austria in April, will run the franchise company there jointly with German managing director Andreas Schulz.

Steinwidder and his wife Noella brought Das Futterhaus from Germany to Austria in 2009, first as master franchise partner and then as managing director. He developed the store network steadily with franchise partners; the franchise group now has 17 partners in Austria and operates 47 branches.

In 2022, the Austrian stores had a turnover of 55 mio euros. When asked by pet, Norbert Steinwidder would not say whether he would remain in the pet sector.
