Zoomark is intent on expansion to the Chinese market and aims to organise its first show there on 23/24 November at the PWTC EXPO Guangzhou. Its partner will be Chinese show and conference organiser Informa Markets, which is based in Beijing. The company has succeeded in becoming a major international player in recent years through mergers and acquisitions.
What makes entering the Chinese market so attractive to the Italians is the steady growth in the pet sector there. This appears to be still expanding despite the subdued economy. Fiera Bologna cites a white paper of the Chinese pet supplies industry stating that the number of households in the Asian superstate with pets grew by 10.4 per cent last year by comparison with 2021 to 116 million. This trend is expected to persist in the next few years.
Fiera Bologna has a branch in Shanghai and says it has been working closely with Informa Markets for some time. Zoomark China is expected to occupy an exhibition area of 15 000 m2 and to attract around 300 exhibitors. Some 15 000 visitors from China and abroad are expected to attend.
