Zoomark opened yesterday, 15 May, in Bologna. On the first day of Zoomark in Bologna, an upbeat mood prevailed and exhibitors expressed delight with the turnout.
The air of positivity was underlined by the release of Assalco data relating to the Italian pet supplies market, indicating that the volume of the dog and cat food market alone has grown by 11.4 per cent compared with the previous year to 2.759 bn euros. The pet population in Italy is estimated at 65 mio in total, including 8.8 mio dogs and 10.2 mio cats. Today, Tuesday, the presentation of the Pet Vision Awards is eagerly awaited at 16:00.
Well over 1 000 exhibitors from 53 countries are presenting their goods and services to visitors on an exhibition area covering 68 000 m² in six halls. The organisers and those familiar with the sector expect a broader international spectrum of visitors also, meaning that Zoomark will undoubtedly be the leading pet sector event in Europe this year.
