The packaging company Coveris, based in Austria, has opened a new business unit called Recover. Recover will operate as an autonomous company and supply Coveris sites and third parties independently with recycled materials, according to the company. To this effect, Coveris has acquired the site and facilities of Capital Valley Plastics Blaenavon in Wales. CVP is an established PE recycler, which processes post-consumer and post-industrial waste through mechanical recycling to produce primarily construction foils.
“With Recover we are getting a process unique throughout the packaging sector off the ground. We have a number of important projects in the pipeline and intend to establish an autonomous business unit devoted entirely to the circular economy in the next few years,” stated Coveris CEO Jakob A. Mosser.
