"Hat trick" ofpet online retailer awards

No pain, no gain, as the saying goes. And because Zooplus has toiled tirelessly in its first 20 years as a company to become ever more successful, the pure player has picked up plenty of awards on the way

Zooplus has "cleaned up" at the Pet Conference in particular: on three consecutive occasions in 2013, 2015 and 2017, the Munich-based company walked off with the pet Retail Award in the Online category. The award was presented at the Pet Conference, twice in Fulda (2013 + 2015) and once (2017) in Cologne.
What happened? The award winner was decided on the basis of a consumer survey conducted by the German market research company Konzept & Markt. A representative selection of 2 000 pet owners from across Germany were asked to name their preferred shopping locations for pet products and rate the services provided by the retailers they visited. The aspects in which Zooplus excelled over its competitors included the range and quality of the products, the price, the design and user-friendliness of the shop and the ability to incorporate new products quickly and flexibly into the online assortment.
The online retailer didn't perform quite as well with regard to the telephone hotline and the trust mark criterion. For the quality of its advertising - a criterion that was covered in the consumer survey in 2017 - Zooplus came second after Fressnapf's online shop.
