First two pilot stores have already opened in rural areas

The French supermarket chain Carrefour is currently testing a new format. Under the Carrefour Contact logo it has opened two stores in Antrain (Ile et Vilaine) and Verson (Calvados) that are intended primarily to operate as local stores for people living in rural areas. Two further pilot stores are expected to follow. Carrefour’s aim is to position the stores on the road into the town or in the town centre.
