Despite the economic downturn, the British pet accessories and healthcare market is thriving. According to the latest research from Mintel, a leading global supplier of consumer, product and media intelligence, the Brits will spend a massive £484 mio on the family pet. This is a healthy 4 per cent increase on last year's figures. In total, the accessories market is worth £269 million, while healthcare is valued at £215 million. Healthcare has increased faster than sales of accessories due to consumers' increased awareness of the health benefits of animal vitamins and supplements.
