A new supplier of fish oils and proteins has entered the international market for pet food ingredients. Marine Harvest, based in Stavanger (Norway), is reported to be the world’s biggest fish farm operator and has been formed as a result of merging activities with Nutreco Aquaculture and Norwegian company Stolt Sea Farm Holdings. The Dutch Nutreco Group will own 75 per cent and Stolt-Nielsen 25 per cent of Marine Harvest, which produces 100,000 tonnes of salmon a year.
