Takeover in the USA

United Industries Corporation of St. Louis, USA, is acquiring the United Pet Group based in Cincinnati for US$ 360 mio (€ 291 mio). Combined sales for the companies are projected at around US$ 1 bn (€ 800 mio). United Pet Group, a leading manufacturer and distributor of pet and aquatic supplies with several brands on the market, will operate as a separate division of United Industries under its existing Chief Executive Officer John Heil. Its acquisition will enable United Industries, which has been active to date in the lawn and garden and insect control segments of the US market, to diversify its range.
