Suppliers of products for dogs and cats will be the most strongly represented group at the forthcoming Interzoo, accounting for 28 per cent of the exhibitors. The second largest segment is the aquatics sector (16.5 per cent), followed by products for small animals and rodents (13.5 per cent). Eleven per cent of the exhibitors specialise in products for ornamental birds, while nine per cent deal in products for animals in the garden and eight per cent in terrarium requisites. Other exhibitor groups cover complementary aspects of the pet product trade, such as equestrian sport or boutique articles, specialist literature and multimedia, shopfitting and packaging as well as pet food production. More than 1 000 exhibitors in total from over 40 countries are expected to attend the fair in Nuremberg from 13 to 16 May 2004. The net exhibition area is estimated to be in excess of 40 000 m².
