The global market for pet food

The global market for pet food was estimated to have a volume of US$ 32 bn (25 bn €) in 2002, the trade journal Petfood Industry writes with reference to Euromonitor. Mars heads the list of the main suppliers in the industry, with sales of US$ 7.9 bn (6.3 bn €) in 2002. Nestlé is not far behind with US$ 7.8 bn (6.2 bn €), and Iams is in third place (US$ 2.6 bn, 2.1 bn €).
