Considerable interest in garden water features

Just under a quarter of visitors to Glee were from garden centres

The visitor figures for the last Glee in Birmingham have now been evaluated, with representatives of garden centres forming the biggest group as expected with 23 per cent (2002: 25 per cent). Retailers from the pet product and aquatics sector came second (2002: 11 per cent) along with manufacturers (2002: 13 per cent). Independent hardware and DIY companies (three per cent) and operators of large-format DIY stores (one per cent) came at the bottom of the table. Glee welcomed 25 866 visitors in all (up 5.8 per cent on the previous year). 2 327 visitors came from abroad, 81 per cent of them from Europe.
