23 per cent increase in visitors to Pet South America

More than 170 exhibitors displayed a wide range of accessories, pet foods and veterinary products in São Paulo

The second Pet South America show, which was held in São Paulo from October 22nd - 24th, attracted almost 20 000 professional buyers from pet shops, veterinary clinics and other distribution channels; attendance grew by 23 per cent compared with last year. This year more than 170 exhibitors displayed a wide range of accessories, pet foods and veterinary products. One of the principal co-located events was the third edition of the São Paulo Congress for Veterinary Clinics, which welcomed 1 200 participants and offered presentations by national and international scientists. The second edition of the “Forum Pet Food” had 150 participants, who attended lectures from specialists in the field of pet food manufacturing. The 2004 Pet South America show will be held from 29th September to 1st October in São Paulo.
The Brazilian pet product industry is growing at an annual rate of 7 per cent, according to the show’s organizers. The state of São Paulo, with the highest per capita income, accounts for a major share of the market.
