In the beginning, there were six tins of moist food. The couple, keen dog lovers, launched a small selection of moist adult food produced from 100 per cent food-grade raw ingredients in Austria in June 2014. “Our first ventures into sales took us to select dog boutiques. The next step, however, was to specialist retailers, because it was clear to us that there was a need for our product on a broader scale,” explains Katharina Miklauz. After entering the Austrian market, Dog’s Love then colonised the pet product shelves in Germany and France. Pet product retailers in Switzerland, Poland, Italy, the UK and other markets are now also supplied.
The six moist adult varieties in 200, 400 and 800 g tins continue to form the brand’s core assortment. “Our own dogs Nala and Pluto still feature on two of the cans – an especially nice memory, as our Vizsla dog, Pluto, died last year. When I enter a shop now and Pluto is looking at me from the shelf, I am doubly happy,” says Miklauz.
