The company's flagship fish food range, Vitalis Aquatic Nutrition, includes a wide variety of uniquely formulated, complete diets. The product line has recently been changed to a new look and has received new 100 per cent recyclable packaging with a 50 per cent reduction in plastic. The new pots will initially be available in the company's three core retail sizes and will be all made from white polypropylene. This has been chosen specifically, as white is far more easily recycled worldwide, according to the company. The containers will be in larger sizes to offer more food per pot in the case of most products. The new pots all stack inside each other prior to filling. This means that they take up fewer pallets in transit, enabling World Feeds to reduce its carbon footprint considerably.

Focus on innovations

World Feeds supplies Vitalis to pet and aquatics retailers world-wide, as well as some of the largest public aquariums around the globe, feeding vast multi-species marine exhibits with tailored feeds, delivered via innovative forms of presentation. Innovation is a key driving force for World Feeds, points out the company, and it has been crucial in the development of its fish food products including soft, sinking pellets, distinctive large flakes and the unique Mini Grazer rings - all of which are produced using bespoke machinery designed by the company's in-house engineers. The company's vision is to improve the way fish are fed by offering highly digestible, tailored diets using high-quality, sustainably sourced ingredients. Vitalis diets have been embraced by leading public aquariums with large-scale exhibits, such as Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and SEA Sentosa in Singapore. That's the reason why the company has extensive experience and is proud to bring that same standard of nutrition and innovation to the home aquarium.

Major investment

Vitalis distributes its fish food products all across Europe and the Middle East as well as to the USA, Canada, China, Japan and Australia. Export activities account for 48 per cent of total sales. The major export countries are Germany, Italy, Canada and Australia, according to the company.
With the growing demand for Vitalis fish foods, as well as its expanding venture into the aquaculture industry, the company has similarly sought to grow in order to accommodate and supply. Amidst global upheaval and the effects of Covid-19, World Feeds has been hard at work ensuring that the well-laid plans for 2020 were able…
