At Kräuter Mix, the name speaks for itself - not only on account of the proprietors Christoph and Bernhard Mix, the third and fourth generation of the family to run the company, which was established in 1919 and employs 450 people. Kräuter Mix supplies medicinal and culinary herbs, dried vegetables and spices as individual ingredients and blends for the healthy, balanced nutrition of pets and farm animals. "The quality and safety of natural products assume top priority for us," says managing partner Christoph Mix.
The raw ingredients, which are cultivated and collected worldwide, are gently processed by Kräuter Mix on more than 30 processing lines. For example, they are chopped, ground and cut into slices, strips and cubes or turned into granulated material. With its international industrial and retail customers the company develops plant blends coordinated to the requirements of pets and livestock, and packs them into big bags, smaller bags and cartons or small containers.

650 air-dried raw herb, spice and vegetable ingredients, ranging from aniseed and coriander via chives to onion, form part of the widely varied assortment. They are responsible for the manifold aromas pervading the extensive production and warehouse facilities.
Kräuter Mix purchases its raw materials from 70 countries around the world and markets the goods produced to customers globally. The supply business in the heart of Germany has thus become a significant transit point for industry and retailers dealing in food, herbal medicines, tea, extracts, spirits and pet food.Many of the natural products manufactured at Kräuter Mix, which are also available in controlled organic quality, can be found in the vegetable and herb mixes of well-known pet food brands. The company has gained multiple certificates in respect of quality and sustainability. As demand has grown, Kräuter Mix has also steadily increased in size in the last few years, not only at its headquarters in Abtswind, situated between Nuremberg and Frankfurt, where the production plants operate a three-shift system; its logistics centre in the neighbouring municipality of Wiesentheid has also been expanded incrementally.
