The Centre du Bien Être Animal in Paris describes itself as the first multi-service centre in France for dogs and cats, and it lives up to its name. Customers are offered not only a wide range of canine and feline accessories, but also a host of services. Wellness features large among these services, with shiatsu sessions for dogs being offered, for example. Shiatsu is said to facilitate the lymphatic drainage of pets and is also suitable for aiding their natural recovery. The pet's symptoms are sometimes recognisable from state loss or slaughtered animal behaviour. Another reason why customers visit the Centre du Bien Être Animal for a shiatsu session with their pet is the possibility of releasing physical and emotional tensions thereby and accelerating the removal of impurities. In older animals this method can also help to improve mobility and flexibility.

Massage for dogs

Dogs can also receive a massage at the Centre, something that the company advises if the pet is exposed to severe stress or finds itself in a new life situation due to a removal. If these circumstances arise for the pet, the massage can remove this stress and the pet can relax again. Blood circulation is also improved and natural balance is restored to the various bodily organs. Another method of releasing tension in pets is so so-called reflexology massage, which is also offered by the Centre du Bien Être Animal. This is the use of a thumb pressure technique on reflex points. Each reflex zone of the foot corresponds to an organ, gland or a body part, according to the Centre. "This touch can locate tensions and restore balance in the corresponding body parts."
And if all this is not enough to destress the dog and dispel internal and external tensions, then aroma baths and aromatherapy can be applied. In the first, the pet is immersed in a warm bath of natural fragrance and aromas that perfume the air while relaxing. In aromatherapy, a massage is given using a gel that contains a complex of amino acids and aromatic oils.
