Soft collars

The collars are made from a soft, lightweight and quick-drying fabric called “Aerospacer”. The material is similar to the fabric that trainer shoes are made from. “The collars are very soft and very comfortable for dogs, even short-haired breeds, to wear,” Alex Wilson, marketing director of Spiffy Dog Europe, says. “They are ideal for dogs who love to swim.” The company offers a range of 15 designs to choose from, plus matching leads. The collars are adjustable, with good scope for different-sized dog necks, and come in four sizes from petite to large. They have a strong, robust clip, excluding the risk of them coming off and releasing the dog. In “Air Collar-Petite” the company has a collar for small dogs and puppies. “It is often hard”, Alex Wilson continues, “to find a quality collar that fits the smaller breeds of dogs or puppies.” The new size comes in 8 different patterns.

Dog behaviourist Marie Miller recommends “Air Collar” products. As a committee member of the UK Association of Pet Dog Trainers (UKAPDT), she endorses all aspects of positive reinforcement training and motivational methods. Nikki Brown, a Birmingham-based canine behaviour consultant, recommends the “Let‘Em Lead” dog leash, which is to be launched directly after the “Air Collar”.
