Super-premium food for rodents
In "Emotion" the German company Vitakraft offers a super-premium range for all rodents that it says is exclusively for the speciality trade. The pet food concept has been developed on the basis of the latest scientific findings in nutritional physiology and meets the specific needs of individual rodent species for optimum nutrition. Special consideration was given to the aspects of coat and skin care, dental care and strengthening of the immune system. These factors were combined with food mixes specially tailored to the animals, comprising natural ingredients and all the elements vital for growth. The "Emotion" range is broken down into the main product lines "Beauty", "Longhair" (for all long-haired dwarf rabbits and guinea pigs) and "Sensitive" (for especially sensitive animals), plus different cracker varieties - "Wellness" (for strengthening bodily defences and promoting fitness and health) and "Hair" (skin and coat care for dwarf rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters). The "Beauty" range also includes an "Omega-6-Beauty-Complex" for the optimum skin and coat. All the food mixes contain choice herbs, fruit and vegetable varieties and are specially coordinated to meet different nutritional requirements, for example containing whole shrimps for hamsters and small rodents to satisfy their need for high-grade animal proteins. www.vitakraft.de

The "Crock" range from Belgian company Versele Laga comprises five snacks for rabbits and rodents, "Crock Apple" for guinea pigs, "Crock Bacon" for ferrets, "Crock Banana" for hamsters, "Crock Carrot" for rabbits and "Crock Herbs" for chinchillas. The company says that the treats have been designed specially to cater for the individual needs of each type of pet. The crunchy coating also promotes natural gnawing behaviour and provides the animal with valuable fibre. And the tasty fillings provide pets with vitamins, fruit and fibre. The German company Animonda has introduced a new cat food line, "Rafiné Petit", which is packed in a new 85 g tray shaped like a cat's head. "Rafiné Petit" is a fine meat paté containing visible pieces of meat or fish. It is available in fish, heart and rabbit varieties and contains no added flavourings or colourants. www.animonda.de
