Marsapet wants to set new standards in pet nutrition. The owner-managed family business, based in Swisttal, Germany, recently launched Marsapet MicroBell, which it claims is the world's first dry dog food based on microbial proteins.

Developed and produced in collaboration with protein experts Calysta, the centrepiece of this world first is MicroBell, a revolutionary protein source, according to Marsavet, which is obtained through a natural fermentation process. It is bio-identical to animal protein, provides all the essential amino acids and ensures optimal nutrition for dogs. In addition, unlike conventional dog food, MicroBell does not consume large amounts of resources or contribute to factory farming. The protein source is produced through a microbial fermentation process using methane as the only carbon and energy source.
