Ikea UK and the British animal welfare initiative Woodgreen have teamed up to show cats and dogs looking for a new home in the new cat and dog catalogues. Pictures were taken with them using various pieces of Ikea pet furniture. From cosy cat beds and scratching posts to stylish dog beds and cat houses, the animals are given the portraits they rightly deserve.

"We hope that this partnership will not only raise awareness of adoption, but also provide solutions and inspiration on how to create a comfortable living space for furry companions," said Michaela Quinlan, country commercial manager, Ikea UK and Ireland.

Last year, Woodgreen saw a 62 per cent increase in abandoned pets and a huge 253 per cent increase in people wanting to give up their pets for financial reasons, mainly due to the rising cost of living.

The collaboration with Ikea UK aims to support Woodgreen's mission to provide a better future for thousands of pets through safe housing and expert care. In addition to a monetary donation for the residents of Woodgreen, all of the furniture presented was donated to the pet centre.
