The mortgage experts at online portal Money.co.uk have graded 20 European cities according to the factors most important to pet owners. The result is a rankings list of the ten biggest European cities in terms of pet-friendliness:

2. Paris (71)
3. Rome (57.5)
4. Madrid (56.5)
5. Berlin (56)
6. Barcelona (54)
7. Hamburg (50,5)
8. Brussels (49)
9. Munich (48)
10. Milan (48)
With 82.5 out of a possible 100 points, London is well out in front as the winner, followed by Paris. According to Money.co.uk, there are 240 pet stores and 172 pet care options available in London. Other factors taken into consideration were travelling on public transport, pet-friendly rental properties and veterinary care services in the city centre. At national level, however, Germany is the best location with three cities in the top ten.
