The news comes as a bolt out of the blue: the Fressnapf Group is changing its management structure with effect from 1 October 2016. Alfred Glander will head the management team (CEO), while Hans-Jörg Gidlewitz will continue to be responsible for finance, IT and HR in his capacity as CFO. They will be supported by nine other members of the executive committee, which is responsible for the operational business as a whole.
Company founder and proprietor Torsten Toeller is taking a step back from the day-to-day running of the business, but will stay on as chairman of the board of directors. The board of Fressnapf Holding SE will continue to drive the development of the business in close cooperation with the management. Folkert Schultz is moving from the management to the board of directors, which will then have five members.
Marc Lukies is leaving the management and will have a new brief in future for Allegro Invest SE, the family office of Torsten Toeller.
"For me, handing the operational decisions over to an executive committee headed by Alfred Glander is a logical step for the continued development of Fressnapf," said Torsten Toeller. "In future I will spend less time working in the company, but more working on it and its overall strategic orientation."
