EBI – new player in the pet product market

The newly established Europet Bernina Holding B.V. based in Gemert (Netherlands) is a joint company set up with effect from 1 January 2005 by the two companies Europet Benelux b.v. of Gemert, Netherlands, which has a branch in Nuremberg (Germany), and Wilhelm Naumann GmbH (Bernina) of Iserlohn, Germany. A press release on the company states “Thus a new player has emerged in the international pet product market, with a measurable sales volume for Europe – a player that is equal to current and future market requirements”. EBI employs more than 125 staff at its locations in Gemert, Iserlohn and Nuremberg. Over 5,000 customers can choose from a range of more than 7,000 products for dogs, cats, birds, small animals, fish and reptiles. And in a message to its customers, the company says: “This merging of know-how, modern working methods and long experience of the industry and market in production, procurement and distribution guarantees a competent, target-oriented and close working relationship.” The EBI management of the new holding company is made up of Helene and Steffen Ellerstorfer, Frans van Hek, Holger Passia and Hartmut Simons. Herbert Ellerstorfer is acting as consultant to the management.
