Substantial increase in foreign visitor contingent at Glee/Petindex

The attendance figure for Glee and the linked Petindex show fell slightly compared with a year ago, with the number of visitors down by 4.35 percent to 24,761. This decline is attributable to a fall in visitors from the UK to 22,231, 5.64 percent fewer than in 2003. By contrast, the number of foreign visitors coming to Birmingham rose markedly by 8.72 percent to 2,530. The organisers have big expectations for the show in 2005. “With Gafa becoming a biennial show, Glee will be the international show for Europe next year”, said Nick Page of Town and Country.
