Strong Swiss stores

The Hornbach stores in Switzerland number among the German DIY multiple’s best-performing branches. According to the company report, the two outlets were already realising a profit after allowance for all administrative costs in the 2003/2004 financial year (to 29 February). Hornbach opened its first Swiss store at Littau near Lucerne in July 2002, then seven months later came the second at Etoy near Lausanne. Each of the stores is over 11 000 m² in size. Planned for this year is yet another new opening, around 12 500 m² in size, at Villeneuve on Lake Geneva.
