Fascinating visuals
The Danish company Akva Stabil, a subsidiary of Eldorado of Haderslev, has developed a new range of shop fittings under the name “Effect Line“. The contemporary design of the layout is characterized by the front, which is made of anodized grey aluminium. Anodizing the aluminium produces a surface that looks more attractive, is harder and slides better. Other features of the new aquarium display include the large front doors for access to the individual tanks, complete glass aquariums and adjustable water discharges. Various types of filter equipment are available: central filters for all aquarium types, batch filters for three aquariums at a time or individual filters for individual aquariums. And for lighting there are the “T5“ and “T8“ tubes, either one or two per aquarium.

Clean food sales
The Dutch company Budget Bulk of Zaandam offers an innovative system for selling loose food. The transparent storage tubes allow customers to see the food and compare the various types while preventing contamination or accidental mixing of the food. The tubes are made of polycarbonate, a considerably tougher material than acrylic that can even be washed in the dishwasher at temperatures of up to 55° C. And there is no need for stickers because the tubes come with specially shaped label holders.
Contemporary curves
The German company Juwel Ladenbau of Visselhövede is following the trend for curved, organic shapes and offering an undulated sales display unit for aquatic plants. Its compact, aesthetic shape enables it to be placed strategically near displays of ornamental fish to promote sales. And despite its small external dimensions of just 2.4 x 0.7m, it can hold 360 plants. The plant pots are easily stored on an inserted stainless steel rack that also prevents the pots from floating upwards. The closed base cabinet is also wave-shaped. Maintenance access to the technical equipment is gained via the service doors on either side. The plant display can be illuminated by a suspended wave-shaped lamp, which is available as an option, thus automatically attracting the attention of customers.

Innovations for small pets
Loose food can be sold attractively and hygienically using the transparent sales system from Budget Bulk.
The German company Theiling of Melle has introduced three attractive and at the same time unconventional display facilities intended especially for rabbits and small rodents. The new four-storey rodent hotel offers sociable pet accommodation. It is 2 m high and has a footprint of only 0.5 m². The four storeys can be interconnected by ramps and are ventilated by air ducts at the sides. A large retreat room is also included in the design. The two mobile farm zoos, in the shape of a hay cart and a wheelbarrow respectively, offer a great variety of display possibilities. The hay cart is over 3 m long, the wheelbarrow over 2 m. Both can be used for dwarf rabbits and guinea pigs, just like the hotel.
Theiling’s mobile farm zoos offer a variety of display possibilities: hay cart (right) and wheelbarrow (left).
The company also presented innovations on a smaller scale with the development of two impulse-buy counters for plant aquariums. The 160 cm² rectangular presentation table is suitable for displaying additional sales items such as care products or food. The rectangular table can be adjusted in length and placed on top of the plant aquarium. The 70 cm² hexagonal table can be placed at the corners of the tank. www.theiling.com
