Gafa, the international garden trade fair, will only be held every two years after this year following a joint decision by the specialist advisory committee and Kölnmesse. Exhibitors from the garden equipment sector in particular were hoping for a two-yearly show cycle. Spoga, which has always taken place in parallel with Gafa, will remain an annual show and extend its scope to include “Garden lifestyle”. According to a press release, Spoga offers all suppliers of “lifestyle-oriented products” who have been exhibiting at Gafa the opportunity to participate in Spoga. This includes the pet product sector, along with furnishings and decorating, plants, biological and chemical garden products and floristry. The show’s title is being modified accordingly and will in future be “Spoga – International Trade Fair for Sport, Camping and Garden Lifestyle”. Both shows will keep their September slot and the same show days as before, from Sunday to Tuesday. The event will also retain its trade exhibition character. The dates for the two fairs this year are 5 to 7 September 2004.
